Health Benefits

When it comes to making health-conscious decisions, people tend to think about the food that they eat and their exercise habits. But what about the air that they breathe? At FilterMe, we know that the air we breathe inside is often dirtier than the air outside. Not changing your air filter can allow dust to build up and viruses to spread, both of which can have detrimental effects on people’s health and well-being. It is our mission to provide a service that protects our customers.

By subscribing to FilterMe, you will be able to breathe easy knowing that those in your household are breathing clean air. Not only does changing your filter more frequently improve your health, it saves you money.

How often should I change my HVAC filter?

The answer to this question depends on a range of factors. Energy Star, a program run by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), encourages people to change their filter every three months at a minimum. That minimum is for those who do not use their air conditioning and heating systems very regularly and do not fall into any of the groups who need to change their filters more frequently.

The following groups should consider changing their air filter once a month or at least every other month: Pet owners, smokers, people with respiratory conditions such as asthma, people who live in areas prone to pollution or fire-related air pollutants, and those who have an air filter located in a garage. If you fall into any of these groups, we recommend that you change your filter at least every other month and strongly consider changing it every month.
